Aerospace glider

Group organizer: «TsAGI», Russian space agency «Roscosmos»

The programme includes special courses aimed at the development of aerospace technologies, high-speed aircraft design, flight dynamics studying, practical classes in computer modeling, laboratory exercises in fluid, gas and plasma control, practical exercises on construction, results of simulations, launch of aircraft models with rocket engines.

The aim – the development of aerospace technologies, advanced training of staff, cooperation between specialists.

Formats: lectures, seminars, trainings, business and team games.

The main topics:

  • The main achievements and global trends of creation of new aerospace engines.
  • New technologies in the aerospace industry and features of their implementation.
  • Methods of gas flow research and its modeling with rapid speeds.
  • Laboratory exercises in fluid, gas and plasma control
  • Computer modelling of aerospace processes
  • Strength tests and new materials
  • Foundations of aerophysics experiment

The program includes avia-rocketmodel competitions in which handling and accuracy of aeromechanical systems of aircraft designed will be evaluated during teamwork of specialists.

The educational program will finish with a competition of scientific and technical projects prepared by team.
The participants are divided into teams of 7 people.

The tasks of each team:

  • learn to effectively work with a team assigning roles
  • to create launch vehicle
  • to calculate the optimal shape
  • to create aircraft glider, to achieve stability and controllability
  • to turn around an obstacle as short a time
  • to carry out calculations of dynamics of flight, to compare results with experimental data
  • to develop a plan for the development of innovative scientific-technical project

Participants of the winning teams will receive valuable prizes and souvenirs.
Requirements for participants of the program: experience in scientific and technical competitions (preferably), aviation or missile training direction.
